Intake requests

How do I find a medical expert?

You can find medical experts through direct referral links, professional directories, or networking. When you have a doctor’s intake URL, visit it to submit a request describing your case.

How long does it take for a doctor to respond to my intake request?

Most doctors respond within 1-3 business days. Response times vary depending on the doctor’s caseload and the complexity of your request.

Can I submit requests to multiple doctors simultaneously?

Yes. You can submit intake requests to multiple doctors at the same time. Accept the first positive response and inform the others that you have found an expert.

Can I cancel an intake request?

Intake requests cannot be cancelled directly by attorneys. Contact support at support@expertmd.io if you need to cancel a request, or wait for the doctor to respond.

What happens if a doctor rejects my request?

You receive a notification that the request was declined. The doctor may provide a reason. You can submit a new request to a different doctor.

Case management

Can I have multiple cases with the same doctor?

Yes. Each intake request that is accepted creates a separate case. You can have multiple active cases with the same medical expert.

How do I add documents to a case?

Open the case detail page, navigate to the Documents tab, and drag and drop files or click to browse and upload. Supported file types include PDF, DOCX, images, and more.

Are my documents encrypted?

Sensitive documents are encrypted using end-to-end encryption. You must have your encryption vault unlocked to upload or view encrypted documents.

Can I add collaborators from my team to a case?

Yes. On the case detail page, go to the Collaborators tab and add team members. They will be able to view case details, documents, and notes for that specific case.

Can I remove a collaborator from a case?

Yes. Go to the Collaborators tab on the case and click Remove next to the collaborator you want to remove. Their access is revoked immediately.

Documents

What file types can I upload?

ExpertMD supports PDF, DOCX, DOC, XLSX, XLS, PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, and TXT files. Maximum file size is typically 10MB per file.

Can I download all documents from a case at once?

Currently, documents must be downloaded individually. Bulk download is not yet supported.

Are uploaded documents visible to both the doctor and attorney?

Yes. Both parties on a case can view and download documents uploaded by either party.

Collaboration

Can a team member create invoices?

No. Only the primary account holder (the doctor) can create and send invoices. Team members can view invoice status but cannot create or modify invoices.

Can a team member submit intake requests?

Team members can view intake requests but cannot submit new ones. Only the primary attorney account holder can submit intake requests.

How many team members can I have?

The number of team members depends on your subscription tier. Free accounts are limited to 1 user. Professional allows up to 5, and Enterprise allows unlimited team members.
