Referral Program Launch

April 18, 2026 We are excited to launch the ExpertMD Referral Program. Share your unique referral link with colleagues and earn 25% of the platform fees generated by each person you refer, for 12 months from their sign-up date.
  • Available to both doctors and attorneys
  • No limit on the number of referrals
  • Track your referrals and earnings from your dashboard

Payment Reminders

April 15, 2026 Doctors can now send manual payment reminders for outstanding invoices. A reminder email is sent to the attorney with the invoice summary and a direct payment link.
  • Available for invoices in Sent or Overdue status
  • 1-hour cooldown between reminders to prevent spam
  • Reminders CC the doctor for record-keeping

Itemized Invoice Line Items

April 15, 2026 Invoices now display itemized line items on the Stripe payment page, in emails, and on PDF downloads. Each service appears as its own line item with quantity, rate, and amount. Previously, invoices showed a single lump-sum amount. Now attorneys can see exactly what they are paying for:
  • Individual service descriptions (e.g., “Medical Record Review,” “Deposition Preparation”)
  • Per-service quantity and rate
  • Separate tax line item
  • Small rounding adjustment if needed for exact Stripe total matching

PDF Inline Display

April 15, 2026 Invoice PDFs now open inline in the browser when accessed from email links, instead of triggering a download. This eliminates the issue where some browsers showed a blank page (about:blank) when trying to open the PDF.
  • PDFs display directly in your browser tab
  • Save or print from your browser’s built-in controls
  • 90-day download tokens with user-friendly error pages for expired links

Client Intake for Attorneys

April 10, 2026 Attorneys can now set up their own client intake forms with custom URL slugs. Share your intake URL with clients so they can submit case information directly to your ExpertMD dashboard.
  • Custom URL slug (e.g., expertmd.io/client-intake/smith-law)
  • Collect client contact info, case type, description, and documents
  • Notifications when new submissions arrive

End-to-End Encryption

March 2026 We shipped end-to-end encryption for sensitive case data. Your passphrase protects your private key, and per-case symmetric keys encrypt case notes, documents, and other sensitive content.
  • PBKDF2 key derivation with unique salts
  • Asymmetric keypair per user (public key stored, private key encrypted)
  • Per-case AES-256 symmetric keys
  • Lock/unlock mechanism for browser sessions

Stripe Connect Integration

March 2026 Doctors can now connect their Stripe accounts to receive payouts directly to their bank accounts. The 2% platform fee is automatically deducted from each invoice payment.
