A complete profile is essential for building trust on ExpertMD. Attorneys want to see a doctor’s credentials and specialty before submitting an intake request, and doctors want to verify they are working with legitimate legal professionals.
Navigate to Settings in the left sidebar, then select the Profile tab. Your profile information is organized into several sections depending on your role.
Your billing address appears on invoices you send to attorneys. All fields are required:
Street address
City
State
ZIP code
Your billing address is used for invoice headers and Stripe Connect verification. Make sure it matches the address on file with your state medical board.
Your dashboard displays a profile completion percentage. A profile is considered complete when all required fields have been filled in. You cannot receive or submit intake requests until your profile reaches 100%.
Fill in optional fields like sub-specialties and hospital affiliation to make your profile stand out. Attorneys frequently use these details when choosing which expert to contact.
You can update your profile at any time by returning to Settings > Profile. Changes take effect immediately. Note that changing your name or credentials will update how your name appears on invoices and case documents going forward, but will not retroactively change existing invoices.
If you change your email address, you will need to verify the new email before it becomes active. Your login credentials will also update to use the new email.
