Case Management
When a medical expert accepts your intake request, a case is created on ExpertMD. The case serves as the central workspace for your engagement with the expert, containing all documents, appointments, notes, invoices, and collaborator information.Accessing your cases
Click Cases & Records in the left sidebar to view your cases list. Cases are organized by status:- Active — Cases currently in progress
- Completed — Cases that have been finalized by the doctor
- Archived — Cases moved to long-term storage
Case list view
The case list displays key information:| Column | Description |

| Case Name | The name assigned to the case |
| Doctor | The medical expert on the case |
| Status | Active, Completed, or Archived |
| Created Date | When the case was created |
| Last Activity | Date of the most recent update |

Overview
A summary of the case including case name, description, associated doctor, status, and key dates.Documents
Upload and manage files related to the case:- Upload files — Drag and drop or browse to upload medical records, legal documents, correspondence, etc.
- View files — Click to view or download any uploaded document
- File metadata — See who uploaded each file and when
Sensitive documents are encrypted with your passphrase. Make sure your encryption vault is unlocked when uploading or viewing encrypted documents.
Deliverables
Track deliverables requested from the medical expert:- Expert reports
- Medical record reviews
- Deposition preparation materials
- Any other work products
Appointments
View and manage scheduled appointments:- Upcoming appointments with date, time, and location
- Past appointment history
- Appointment type (deposition, consultation, IME, etc.)
Invoices
View all invoices associated with this case. Click any invoice to see its details, download the PDF, or make a payment. See Invoicing for more details.Collaborators
Manage who has access to this case from your team:- Add collaborators — Invite team members to view and work on this case
- Remove collaborators — Revoke access for team members who no longer need it
- View collaborator activity — See what actions collaborators have taken on the case

Working with the medical expert
Communication and document sharing happens through the case workspace. Both you and the doctor can:- Upload and download documents
- Add notes visible to both parties
- Schedule appointments
- Track deliverable status
